Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) posted the Galaxy S27 Ultra's color lineup on X on October 5: four base colors — Black, Blue, Light Pink, and White — with no Purple in sight. 9to5Google, SamMobile, Android Headlines, and other tech outlets picked up the leak, though all coverage traces back to that single post. If accurate, it would be the first S Ultra in four years without a purple option: every Ultra since the S23 Ultra's Lavender in 2023 has offered a purple-ish shade, making purple something of a signature for the Ultra line.
"Base" here means colors sold widely through carriers and retailers, as opposed to Samsung-online-store exclusives. The four leaked names are Black, Blue, Light Pink, and White. Android Headlines called it Samsung "playing it safe again," describing the palette as conservative. Only the plain color names have leaked so far — final marketing names and renders of the actual finishes have not appeared, and details could still change before launch.
Whether purple is really gone remains unresolved. 9to5Google explicitly flags the unknown: it's unclear whether purple was dropped outright or demoted to an online exclusive — Samsung routinely adds store-exclusive colorways on top of the base set, as it did with the S26 Ultra's Pink Gold and Silver Shadow. SammyFans separately claims a "special Violet" will be sold only through Samsung's online store, making five colors total, but that is single-sourced with no corroboration and should be treated as unconfirmed.
The S27 Ultra is expected to launch in Q1 next year alongside the S27, S27+, and the new S27 Pro, and the rumor mill is already in full swing as the launch window approaches. Note that an earlier leak (SammyGuru, around August–September) listed five colors including purple — conflicting with the new four-color list, which could mean Samsung changed plans midway or that the two leaks came from different sources, with the newer one taking precedence. NokiaPowerUser speculates the whole S27 family may share one unified four-color palette, but that is editorial inference, not part of the original leak. As with any leak, the lineup could still shift before Samsung makes it official early next year. Leak season is only getting started, so expect more details — and possibly the first real images of the finishes — to surface in the coming months.
