The original HomePod mini launched in November 2020 and has gone nearly six years without a refresh. Rumors of a successor have slipped more than once: a fall 2025 launch never materialized, and a spring 2026 debut alongside Apple's redesigned Siri slipped as well. The HomePod mini 2 will reportedly jump from the S5 chip to the S10 — a massive step up for the compact speaker. With the new silicon, it would become Apple's first Home product to support the AI-powered Siri, able to sync voice control and music playback with Apple's new HomeView smart home hub throughout the house. The exterior is expected to keep the same spherical design.
Fresh colors are the other big change: pink and green join the lineup alongside blue, midnight black, and white, according to reports and previously leaked Apple code.
