Phantom Blade Zero Launch Trailer Arrives; PS5 Physical Editions Pushed to 2027
Beijing studio S-GAME released the launch trailer for its wuxia action RPG Phantom Blade Zero on October 22, confirming the game launches October 29, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Digital pre-orders are open now at $59.99 for the Standard Edition and $69.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition. A closing note in the trailer reads: "the PS5 physical edition arrives in 2027."
S-GAME confirmed three physical PS5 editions—Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate—with the Ultimate Edition packed in a collectible steel case. The studio has not announced a release month, price, or contents for any of them. Until those details arrive, players can only buy the game digitally at launch.
According to the PlayStation Store and Steam listings, the game unlocks October 29, with October 28 for the US and select regions. Pre-load begins October 27 at 10 a.m. Beijing Time (October 26 at 7 p.m. PT). The install size is 134.857 GB. The trailer states an unlock time of 10 a.m. Beijing Time on October 29, or 7 p.m. PT on October 28.
The Standard Edition at $59.99 includes the full game. The Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99 adds the Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form outfits, a digital artbook, and a digital soundtrack. All pre-orders include the Legacy outfit and the Treasure Basin accessory, which boosts Remnant Dust drops by 10 percent. Epic Games Store pre-orders also grant a Soul cosmetic set in Fortnite. The game is a timed PS5 console exclusive for 12 months, so an Xbox version would not arrive before late 2027.
S-GAME has not explained the delay. The Daily Game reported that PS5 pre-orders have been digital-only since August, with the studio staying silent on a disc release until the launch trailer. Full Cleared noted that the physical release matters to collectors, but no month or pricing has surfaced.
The month, price, and contents of the physical editions remain the key unanswered questions. Digital buyers already have pre-load and unlock times locked in, while collectors must wait until 2027. The next S-GAME announcement on physical edition details will be the story to follow.
