Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy S27 lineup, but new certification information indicates that the Galaxy S27+ may retain 45W wired charging. GSMArena reported on November 2 that safety certification documents list a 15-volt, 3-amp rating, which corresponds to 45 watts. That is the same rated charging power as the Galaxy S26+ and would continue a pattern across Samsung’s Plus models.
The Galaxy S27+ had previously appeared in China’s 3C certification database with support for 45W charging. GSMArena said the latest safety certifications provide additional evidence for the same specification. The listed rating is 15V at 3A, which equals 45W.
The documents cover multiple regional versions of the handset, including global, Korean, U.S., Chinese and Japanese models. The certification information suggests that the rated charging speed will be consistent across those versions, although regional models can still differ in other hardware or network details.
GSMArena noted that 45W is the same wired charging rating offered by the Galaxy S26+. Samsung’s Plus models have used that power level since the Galaxy S22+. If the S27+ launches with the certified rating, it would be the sixth generation in a row to retain 45W charging.
The base Galaxy S27 is also expected to remain at 25W, based on its own certification information. That would match the charging rating of the Galaxy S26. The certification therefore points to continuity rather than a major charging upgrade for the standard and Plus models.
The report listed model numbers including SM-S956B, SM-S956N, SM-S956U and SM-S9560, alongside Japanese-market variants. These identifiers are used for different regional or distribution versions of the device. The presence of multiple model numbers in certification documents does not mean that every version will have identical network bands or other specifications.
The available information is focused on charging ratings. It does not provide a complete technical specification for the Galaxy S27+ or confirm every feature that will appear in the final retail device.
GSMArena said the Galaxy S27 series is expected to return to the usual January or February launch window. That is an expectation based on the company’s typical product cycle, not an official release date announced by Samsung. Certification documents can reveal technical details before a launch, but final retail specifications can still change.
The 45W rating should therefore be treated as a certification-based indication rather than a complete official product announcement. Samsung has not yet confirmed the phone’s full specifications, battery capacity or release schedule.
A 45W rating describes the maximum rated wired charging power under specified conditions. Actual charging time also depends on battery capacity, charging curves, thermal management and the charger being used. The certification information does not provide real-world charging tests or a confirmed battery capacity.
The current evidence suggests that the Galaxy S27+ will not receive a higher wired charging rating than its predecessor. Whether Samsung makes other improvements to battery life or charging efficiency remains unknown until the company releases official specifications.
