How the news on this site is produced, and where it can go wrong.
The system scans public news sources (Google News and others) every 30 minutes and groups reports that cover the same event. An event needs at least two outlets to enter the writing queue; single-outlet items are labelled "single source".
Writing is done by AI: it reads the clustered reports, cross-checks facts, figures and timelines, and produces a 1,500–2,800 character Chinese research brief plus an English version built from the same facts. Traditional Chinese has been produced directly by the writing model since 2026-11-04; older articles were converted with OpenCC.
Articles are AI-compiled and not hand-checked word by word. Report an error via the feedback page: verified errors are corrected and flagged, and articles that should not have been published are removed. We do not accept payment to change coverage.
Article bodies carry no external links; each article ends with the original reports it drew on (outlet, headline, link) so readers can check every claim.
Aggregation is not reporting: we do no original interviewing, and every fact comes from public coverage. AI can misread a source, merge two events, or get a number wrong. For legal, tax, medical or investment decisions, rely on primary documents and licensed professionals.
