WNBA star Caitlin Clark has signed a multiyear partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods and Foot Locker, becoming the first athlete to serve as an official brand partner for either retailer. Dick’s Sporting Goods announced the agreement on November 4, saying the collaboration will connect Clark’s personal brand with both retail businesses through national and global campaigns, promotions for her signature footwear and apparel, in-store and digital experiences, fan activations, appearances and community programming.
The agreement brings Clark together with two major sports retailers under the same corporate umbrella. Dick’s Inc. operates both Dick’s Sporting Goods and Foot Locker, giving the partnership access to different customer groups and retail channels. The company confirmed that the deal is multiyear, but did not disclose its financial terms or the precise length of the contract.
Dick’s said the agreement marks the first time either Dick’s Sporting Goods or Foot Locker has signed an athlete as an official brand partner. Clark described the deal as a full-circle moment, saying Dick’s was a regular stop for her before the start of sports seasons when she was growing up.
Dick’s executive chairman Ed Stack said Clark’s interest in sports extends beyond basketball to activities including golf, football, soccer, baseball and softball. The company sees that broad appeal as a way to connect with fans across different parts of its business. Foot Locker’s marketing leadership also framed the agreement around the retailer’s role in connecting basketball fans with athletes, products and the culture surrounding the sport.
The partnership is exclusive across the two retail brands, according to the company announcement. It is not, however, an announcement that Clark has ended or replaced her existing relationships with other companies.
Under the agreement, Clark will participate in national and global marketing campaigns and customized promotions for her signature footwear, apparel and other product lines. The companies also plan retail and digital experiences, fan activations, appearances and community programming designed to bring consumers closer to the brands and the athlete.
The announcement did not provide a calendar for those activities or specify which countries, stores or digital platforms will host them. It also did not identify a complete list of products that will be included in the promotions.
Clark’s relationship with Nike remains central to her footwear business. Her first signature shoe, the Nike Caitlin 1, launched globally on October 1. Dick’s and Foot Locker said the new partnership will include promotional support for her signature footwear and apparel, but did not announce a change to her existing Nike relationship. The retailers also did not confirm that future shoes or colorways will be exclusive to their stores.
Clark plays for the Indiana Fever and has become one of the WNBA’s most recognizable players. Fox Business reported that she continued to set personal and league records during the 2026 season. The partnership announcement itself, however, did not tie the deal to specific performance bonuses, sales targets or statistical milestones.
For Dick’s, Clark’s appeal may extend beyond basketball shoppers. The company highlighted her interest in multiple sports and her ability to connect with young athletes and families. That creates opportunities to position the partnership around a wider range of sporting goods, not only basketball footwear.
Foot Locker brings a different but related platform. Its identity is closely tied to sneakers and basketball culture, making Clark’s signature shoe line a natural part of the collaboration. The two retailers can use campaigns and store experiences to connect her products with fans who may discover them online, at retail locations or through community events.
The agreement also reflects a broader retail marketing strategy: rather than relying only on traditional advertising, the companies plan to combine an athlete partnership with product promotion, digital engagement, in-person events and community activity. How those elements are executed will determine the partnership’s commercial impact.
The confirmed details are limited to the multiyear nature of the agreement, its coverage of both Dick’s Sporting Goods and Foot Locker, and Clark’s status as the first athlete brand partner for either retailer. The companies have not disclosed the contract’s value, its exact duration, a marketing budget or sales targets.
They also have not announced exclusive product releases, special colorways or a detailed schedule of appearances and campaigns. The deal is best described as a broad brand partnership covering marketing, product promotion and consumer experiences, rather than a contract with publicly disclosed financial terms.
Its eventual impact will depend on how the campaigns are carried out, how Clark’s signature footwear and apparel perform, and whether the retailers can turn fan interest into store visits and online sales. For now, the agreement gives both brands a new way to connect their retail businesses with one of the WNBA’s most prominent athletes.
