Nintendo released Version 1.1.1 for the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nov. 4. The company’s official support page says the update adds support for ZELDA NOTES and fixes several issues to improve the gameplay experience. The patch arrived around the game’s launch and is required for players who want to use the software’s internet features. Nintendo has not published a detailed list of the issues addressed, so claims about specific graphics, performance or control changes should not be treated as confirmed.
Nintendo’s North American support page lists two items: ZELDA NOTES support has been added, and several issues have been addressed to improve gameplay. After installing the update, players are instructed to follow the on-screen prompts when they start the game to configure the feature. Nintendo did not identify the individual bugs that were fixed. It also did not announce specific changes to frame rate, resolution, loading times or control response. Third-party reports put the download at about 343 megabytes, but the official notice focuses on the version and feature changes rather than the file size.
ZELDA NOTES is a companion feature designed to connect supported Zelda games with a smartphone service and provide additional information or assistance outside the main game. Nintendo has used related companion functions in other Zelda releases. The Ocarina of Time update brings support to the Switch 2 edition, allowing players to configure the feature through the instructions shown at startup. Availability and functions may vary by region, account and supported device, so players should check Nintendo’s app and local support information rather than assume every feature is available everywhere.
Nintendo says the update can download automatically when the console is connected to the internet and automatic software updates are enabled. Players can also highlight the game on the HOME Menu, press the plus or minus button, open Software Update and select Via the Internet. Nintendo’s support page says save data remains available after the update. The company also states that the update is required to use the game’s internet features. It has not said that existing save files will be erased or that players must restart their progress.
Version 1.1.1 is a feature and maintenance update, not an announced expansion. Nintendo did not list new story content, dungeons, characters or game modes in the patch notes. The confirmed changes are ZELDA NOTES support and unspecified fixes. Players should rely on Nintendo’s update history for future changes and avoid treating unverified community reports as official patch details.
